ARGENE® real-time PCR provide CE-IVD assays on all major extraction platforms and real-time PCR systems as well as on different sample types. The kits include internal control standards and, for quantitative assays, quantification standards. Offering sensitivity and specificity, ARGENE® real-time PCR kits enable you to provide rapid, reliable results for the management of bacterial and viral infection.
The immunology range offers reference products for the detection of infectious diseases.

Real-Time PCR

With ready-to-use reagents, R-gene® and M.W.S. r-gene® (Multi-Well System) real-time PCR kit ranges provide rapid, sensitive
and specific detection of viruses and bacteria. Time-to-results for all kits is within 2 hours (after extraction). There’s an extensive menu of parameters available and, for added efficiency, these ranges let you detect and quantify various viruses in one sample or analyze various samples for one pathogen at the same time.

ARGENE® for infections in immunocompromised patients*

Viral infections are major causes of morbidity and mortality in immunocompromised or weakened patients (including pregnant women, transplant patients, ICU patients, or patients with AIDS, cancer, severe burns, etc.). Real-time PCR assays enable rapid and sensitive detection of various viral infections before clinical symptoms occur – helping to ensure faster, appropriate medical responses. Early management of infection ensures better patient survival and prevention of transplant rejection; quantification of the viral load and follow-up of its kinetics helps monitor treatment effectiveness.

ARGENE® for respiratory infections

Acute respiratory infections, mainly caused by bacterial or viral pathogens, are responsible for numerous hospitalizations of children. The most serious and potentially life-threatening pneumopathies mostly affect young children, the elderly, immunocompromised patients or weakened individuals (e.g. with chronic disease, cancer, intensive care). Establishing a fast and reliable emergency diagnosis is essential for correct patient management and prevention of disease spread. Since symptoms are similar, appropriate diagnostic tools are necessary for the identification of infectious agents.

ARGENE® for central nervous system infections

Viruses are the leading cause of meningitis and meningoencephalitis, before bacteria and fungi. Although most viral central nervous system (CNS) infections are benign, some, such as herpetic menigoencephalitis, can have dramatic outcomes and need a rapid initiation of antiviral therapy. Rapid identification of viruses implicated in central nervous system infections is therefore key to efficient patient management and for better patient outcomes.
