The FILMARRAY™ Blood Culture Identification (BCID) Panel enables rapid and accurate automated detection of pathogens and antibiotic resistance genes associated with bloodstream infections.
Do you need more information
The FILMARRAY™ Blood Culture Identification (BCID) Panel tests for a comprehensive list of 24 pathogens and 3 antibiotic resistance genes associated with bloodstream infections. With just one test you can identify pathogens in 9 out of 10 positive blood cultures in about an hour with only 2 minutes of hands-on time. The FILMARRAY™ BCID Panel is designed for the FILMARRAY™ system, an FDA, CE-IVD, and TGA certified multiplex PCR system that integrates sample preparation, amplification, detection and analysis.
FILMARRAY™ BCID Panel targets:

Sepsis is serious and can lead to complications – so quickly getting patients on targeted therapy is critical. The FILMARRAY™ BCID Panel is the only FDA-cleared assay that can provide the essential combination of speed, accuracy, ease-of-use, and comprehensiveness.
Definitive identification of a pathogen can take 24 to 72 hours through traditional culture methods. This delay may lead to inadequate or overly broad antimicrobial therapy and result in therapy-related complications, antimicrobial resistance, and increases in patient morbidity, mortality, and costs.
The potential benefits of fast and comprehensive testing of bloodstream infections may include guided appropriate antibiotic therapy, decreased hospital length of stay, reduced hospital costs and reduced patient morbidities and mortality.
